Begin your exciting journey in the Amazon with a transfer from the airport. At approximately 9:00 a.m., you will head to the pier to begin a boat ride on the Nanay River and then on the majestic Amazon River. Your first stop will be at Fundo Pedrito, a hatchery where you can feed various Amazonian species, from paiches and piranhas to caimans and parrots. You can even meet the famous Victoria Regia plant.

Afterwards, you will arrive at the Lodge, where you will hike to the Lodge’s 26-meter high lookout point, which offers a breathtaking view of the jungle. In addition, you will enjoy an exciting CANOPY experience, with a circuit that includes five zip lines, two hanging bridges and rappel. Lunch will be served at the lodge, followed by a botanical hike or a relaxing canoe ride.

Dinner at the lodge will be followed by a night tour to discover the nocturnal life of the jungle, where you can observe tarantulas, cicadas, spiders, scorpions, praying mantises and listen to the mysterious songs of owls and “ayaymamas”.

This day will start early with a sunrise tour, where you will enjoy the sunrise in a unique landscape in the world. Then, you will have the opportunity to observe the typical birds of the region in all their splendor.

After breakfast at the Avatar Amazon Lodge, you will visit the “Yaguas” indigenous community, where you will witness their songs, dances and learn about their way of life, hunting and handicrafts.

Then, you will explore the Free Animal Reserve, where you can interact with monkeys and other species. You will also observe macaws, parrots, sloths, prehistoric “mata mata” turtles and the feared boa constrictor or anaconda. Lunch will be served at the lodge.

In the afternoon, you will take a walk to admire “La Ceiba de la Selva”, an ancient tree with an impressive height and diameter. You will also have the opportunity to feel like Tarzan on the exciting Tarzan’s Rope.

Dinner at the lodge will be accompanied by legends and stories based on Amazonian myths, narrated by our guides.

After breakfast, you will set sail for the village of San Juan de Huachalado along the Amazon River. There, you will explore the village, meet its inhabitants and enjoy the rich local flora and fauna. You will venture down the Yanayacu River, known for its black waters, and spend the day doing activities such as fishing, canoeing and hiking. Along the way, you will see the famous giant tree called Lupuma and encounter Tarzan’s lianas. Lunch will be organized at a villager’s house or at the jungle camp.

The visit to the Trapiche in San Juan de Huachalado will allow you to learn about the elaboration of typical aguardientes and taste them.

Finally, you will return to the lodge, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

After breakfast, you can fish for piranhas or enjoy a relaxing swim in the warm waters of the majestic Amazon River, just 10 minutes from the lodge. Afterwards, you will experience a mud treatment (in summer) on the banks of the river, where you will soak in a mud bath to enjoy soft and healthy skin. Don’t forget your bathing suit.

After a fun piranha fishing session and a swim in the Amazon River, you will visit the Butterfly Center to learn about the development of these beautiful insects.

After check-out you will enjoy lunch. Then, you will depart on a navigation on the Amazon River and return to your hotel in the city of Iquitos or to the airport.
