Machupicchu full day

We pick you up at your hotel at 3:00AM and take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo.  At 5:30 AM we board the train you have elected to take you to the majestic sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

(There is another option where we pick you up at 6AM and take you to Poroy where the train departs at 6:45AM.)

During the trip you will enjoy the stunning beauty of the Interandean valleys until we arrive at village Machu Picchu, better known as “Agua Calientes”(Warm Waters….a site of natural warm springs).  From Agua Calientes we board a bus for the steep climb to the base of Machu Picchu.  (You can hike up the mountain to Machu Picchu if you prefer but you must be aware of time constraints on a 1-day visit)  After check-in with the local authorities you and your guide will enter the complex and begin your tour.

Inside this wonderful archeological complex your guide will take you to the following places, among others:

• The Temple of the Sun.  Here you will see the principal structures.
• The Intihuatana.
• El Grupo de la Roca Sagrado
• Templo de las Tres Ventanas
• El Mausoleo

Your guide will tell you all that is known or believed to be known about the various areas you visit.

You will have plenty of time for taking pictures and to wander about on your own to places that interest you most.
