A complete day in the Sacred Valley with a river rafting trip of 2 to 3 hours. In the afternoon you can visit archeological sights and their surroundings. This is an ideal alternative for tourists with little time and or experience with rafting.
There are various trips you can take but we recommend the one that comprises the Sacred Valley of the Incas en Urubamba. They offer 3 trips that can be accomplished in 1 day.
Considered the most popular section, that is easier to perform. It does not require any previous experience or special physical fitness, nor of any specialized equipment, but some basic that is provided. This river is crossed in the months of May to September. They are short and little technical difficulty. This does not mean that lack appeal.
This part offers more adventure and more rapids than in the first section. Overall the tour is more varied and with faster water. It is faster, but not dangerous.
This is the most exciting section of Urubamba. Located an hour and a half from the city of Cusco. The tour means pure adrenaline and big torrents. You need some experience and there is considerable risk, but the journey can only be done in the dry season, from June to September.
This section of the river is actually medium difficulty, but high technical level and quality of operations the kayakers can perform. The kayak is part of rafting, although it is a totally different mode. It is a small boat with capacity for a single person, given its size and weight, that allows rapid traverse rivers and maneuvers, that would be impossible in a normal raft.
Tour duration: 8-10 hours.
