The Inca Trail is considered the most famous hike in South America and is rated by many passengers, as one of the top five hikes in the world, you will enjoy the amazing landscape, mountains and forests rich in flora and fauna, you will visit the archaeological sites along the route until you arrive to Machupicchu Sanctuary.
Please note that you must book three to six months in advance, all this because the permits sell out quickly through the official system.
ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco – Piscacucho.
We will leave Cusco to begin our journey to the Sacred Valley, until to get Ollantaytambo town, then we will continue to 82 km of the railroad, that leads to Machupicchu in this place called Piscacuho we will meet with the porters who will register us with the authorities, after it we will begin hiking by part of the inca trail network known as the Qhapaq Ñan.
Day 02: Huayllabamba – Abra Warmi Wañusqa – Pacaymayo.
This day we must be prepared to face our first high altitude challenge, the Warmi Wañuska Pass. Along the way we will appreciate the different ecological floors which were dominated by the Incas to build this wonderful trail.
On the way we will be able to see the magnificent geography of the South Andes, then we will begin our descent through a beautiful trail to the Pacaymayo Camp, where we will have dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast, second high altitude challenge, we will climb the Runkurakay pass and we will pass through the archaeological site of the same name, which will leave us surprised by its beauty, the ascending road will take us through a beautiful landscape with small lagoons that will decorate our walk.
Then we will begin our descent appreciating the environment, until we arrive at Phuyupatamarka in this place we will have the opportunity to visit the viewpoint, where we will be witness of a powerful landscape, being surrounded by sacred mountains and the back of the Machu Picchu Mountain. We will also visit the small but complex archaeological site of Phuyu, then we will begin hiking along the stone stairs to the Wiñay Wayna Camp. Once at our campsite we will enjoy a good rest, dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Wiñay Wayna – Machupicchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco.
We will leave in the morning until we reach to Inti Punku, the entrance gate to the sacred citadel of Machupicchu.
Then we will visit de Sanctuary of Machupicchu guided by a professional tourism guide, who will show you temples, water fountains, astronomical observatories, sanctuaries and more, filling us with energy and spiritual vibrations.
After this adventure we will return to Machupicchu Town to have a lunch, the following we will board the train from Aguas Calientes to Poroy Station to back to Cusco and finally we will transfer you to your hotel.
