The adventure begins at 5 am Pick up from the hotel and travel to Mollepata – Soraypampa. Arriving we start with the hike until we reach the Humantay lagoon where we will have spectacular views of the lagoon and the Nevado Apu Salkantay. mountain glaciers of Humantay (19,356 feet) and Salkantay (20,396 feet). Then, we return for lunch in front of the majestic glacier.
Then, we head to our first camp at Soroccocha, located at the foot of the imposing Salkantay mountain. At the camp, we will have a hot drink and snacks. Here we will camp.
After breakfast, we continue our journey to Salkantay with a climb of approximately one hour to reach the highest point of the trek, the Apacheta Pass at 4,650 m / 15,367 ft. At the pass, we take pictures of the mountain and colorful valleys, enjoy and be in contact with the Pachamama, performing breathing techniques for ENERGY. We will have 30 minutes to enjoy the panoramic turquoise Salkantay Lake. Then, we continue to Rayanniyoc for lunch. Then, we hike a couple of hours to our last stop of the day, the campsite near the small village of Colpapampa. Hot drinks and snacks-dinner.
This day we will walk to our next destination, Lucmabamba. During this time, you will see tropical valleys, fruit plantations, cocoa and coffee trees, birds of different variety. We will arrive at our destination for lunch and relax. After lunch we will take transportation for half an hour to Cocalmayo, where we can enjoy the natural hot springs. We return to the camp for dinner, we will enjoy fruit and vegetables.
After breakfast, we will climb for about 3 hours to the archaeological site of Llactapata. From here there are wonderful panoramic views of Machu Picchu. After touring the site, we will head downhill to the local hydroelectric plant, where we will stop for a picnic lunch in the middle of nature, in the Machu Picchu National Park we will appreciate the lush subtropical jungle, full of orchids and epiphytes growing on the trees.
After lunch we will take the train to the small town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, where we will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu, the guide will give you the complete tour, which lasts approximately two hours. We will see all the most important sites of Machu Picchu, including the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Condor, the Temple of the Three Windows, we will appreciate how Machu Picchu is divided into three sectors: agricultural, religious and nobility.
After the tour, we will go down to the village for lunch and then go to the station to take the train back to Ollantaytambo station where we will take the bus back to Cusco. End of the adventure!
